Vertical Blinds Operating Instructions

 

PVC/LEISUREWOOD:

To adjust the slats: Grasp the beaded tilt chain length closest to you and pull downward in a controlled manner to rotate the slats simultaneously from a closed position to an open position. To close the slats, grasp the opposite beaded chain length and pull downward in a controlled manner until the slats close simultaneously.

Note: Closed position for the slats should always have the convex curved side of the slat facing away from the window/door; in most cases, this will be the side showing the pattern if one exists. Leaving the slats facing the opposite way may allow more light to filter into the room as well as provide a less pleasing aesthetic (if slats have a decorative pattern it would no longer be visible).

To slide the blinds open/closed: Open all the slats using the tilt chain first, then grasp the draw cord length closest to you and pull downward in a controlled manner to slide the slats simultaneously into the open position. To slide the blinds into the closed position, grasp the opposite length of the draw cord and pull downward in a controlled manner until all the slats slide back into their original position, then use the tilt chain to close the slats.

CAUTION: Slats must only slide across the track in the OPEN position; DO NOT ATTEMPT TO SLIDE THE SLATS INTO THE OPEN POSITION WITHOUT FIRST ROTATING THE SLATS OPEN as this will cause damage to the track and may result in the track needing to be replaced. Do not place any objects (furniture, drapes, curtains) in the path of the rotation of the slats as this may cause damage to the carriers and may result in the track needing to be replaced. Do not open the blinds by separating them with your hand as this may cause damage to the stems holding the slats as well as the carriers and may result in the track needing to be replaced.

Pro tip: If after the installation the slats seem to be sticking to each other, it is usually due to static buildup. Simply take a damp cloth or paper towel and wipe each individual slat vertically; this should eliminate the static buildup and correct the problem.
